JOSHUA
Joshua was quite a warrior and only one of two people who would live to see the promised land. The story starts out following the death of Moses. There are several memorable occurrences in Joshua including the fall of Jericho and how Rahab helped the Israelite spies.
There is nothing known concretely about who the true author of this book was or when it was written, though we do know the main character is Joshua himself. Another interesting fact is that the Messiah had the same name as Joshua. You can verify this by comparing Acts 7:45 and Hebrews 4:8 in the King James Version with most other versions of scripture. Of course, there was no "J" either in form or sound, it was a "Y" sound.
We will be using the New King James Version for the text.
